Florida RIMS Supporters:

Happy New Year!  We wanted to take this time to thank you for your past support of our educational conference and give you some updates on this year’s conference.

As you may, or may not know, the Ritz Carlton Naples Beach Resort sustained substantial damage during Hurricane Ian, predominantly to their electrical and mechanical systems, as they were housed on the basement and first floor levels.  The hotel remains closed.  In December, the Conference Committee met with the General Manager, in person, to discuss the damage and our options for the conference.

We are working with the Resort to determine if they will be up and running in time for the conference, which is scheduled for July 25-29, 2023.

While we do hope to return to the Ritz Beach Resort in Naples this year, we wanted you to be aware that there is a good possibility that we will need to move the location of the conference, but we are doing everything within our power to keep it in the Naples area.  Please bear with us while we work through this issue to be sure we will provide the high standards that you are used to from the Florida RIMS Educational Conference.  We are working closely with the Ritz on backup plans.

Presently, we are expecting the conference to go on during the planned dates, and for registration to open sometime around mid-April.  But we do ask you to be patient with us, in case any of this information changes.

Please know that the whole committee is working hard to finalize these details as soon as possible, but as we know, hurricanes can throw a wrench in plans here in Florida, and much of the outcome is out of our control.

We do commit to keeping you informed, as we learn more, so look for future updates.

Stacey Nielsen

2023 Florida RIMS Educational Conference Chairperson
